The Men get ready for their 52nd season on the pitch with hopes for the future

"As this new team ventures forth to the new season, they also have a new opportunity - a B Side team"

The men's contact team returns to practice this coming Thursday as they prepare for their Matrix season which kicks off in Gainesville on January 20th. The men's team had a superb fall season going 5-5 against tough opponents from all around the South. They gained a new coaching staff, 15+ players new to the team with some even being new to Rugby. With the new staff has brought a new approach to the game, framing a complete change to team practices and the philosophy with which the team has managed. Looking towards spreading the skill sets across the field, Head Coach Ryan Cox has migrated the team to a 1-3-2-2 offense preaching that players should use a channel mindset as much as possible as well as being worried more about their next play then where they need to be on the field.

As this new team ventures forth to the new season, they also have a new opportunity - a B Side team. This is the first time this millennia that Jacksonville had a chance at forming a B Side squad with a massive 45 man roster at its disposal. The coaching staff is currently exploring options to have the B Side squad play its own schedule of matches outside of the A sides matrix schedule. The aim of the B side is to help to develop the newer players on the squad and get more minutes to more men.
